From the time she was little, Glenda has always wanted to be a nurse. Every Christmas, she would get a new nurse’s kit, and her brothers would have to tolerate having their temperature taken with a plastic thermometer, and being prescribed candy pills to “make them all better.” Her goal to be a nurse was achieved when she entered college right out of high school and became an RN before she was 20.
Glenda has been in the industry of elder care for the majority of her nursing career. She has spent more than 35 years as a Director of Nursing in skill nursing facilities, working at various facilities around both Utah and Salt Lake County. Cottonwood Place is the first Assisted Living community she has worked in, and now feels like she is “home.” When walking down the halls, you can hear the residents tell their families “there is my nurse.” She known as Glenda the Good Witch by the residents and their family members. Cottonwood Place is that jobs she loves, and she knows each of her residents by name and knows tidbits about them.
